The most addicting game ever made! I highly recommend this one. Never a dull moment! Get the game guide to help you, it's worth it.

Most videogames fight a battle between innovation in design and solid, smooth gameplay. It is rare for a game to show you something you haven't seen before and yet not give frequent moments of disappointment. Fallout 3 is the best of both worlds. Fallout 3 from the maker of Oblivion, so making a vast open RPG is nothing new for development. As for innovation, Fallout takes place in the ruins in and around DC. It is a huge map, full of missions, mutants, and mementos. The bleak wasteland looks amazing, with a ton of detail put into every ruined building and salvaged hut. Combat can be done manually like a regular shooter, or use the VATS system. which pauses time and allows targeting of specific parts of the enemy. It makes combat not suck in an RPG, which is always a rarity. The story has good writing production value from beginning to end, featuring voicework from Liam Neeson. while the main tory is short, it can be avoided entirely. It can take over 100 hours to see everything there is to see in the world of fallout, and all of it is at a high standard. With 30 major quests, all of which have different outcomes and permutations, this game can even be played multiple times. It is worth your time, it has earned all the game of the year awards it received, and it is worth your money.

Buy this game on Xbox 360, not playstation. There are several reasons for this, first of all, the game looks and runs better on xbox, which it was primarily developed for. Secondly, there are three xbox exclusive downloadable content packs coming out this year, one of which is already out. By April, all three packs will be out and only for xbox. At the end of the year, a Game of the Year edition should come out for 60 bucks, featuring the full game and the DLC, so if you don't own this game and are a cheap bastard, wait for that.

Behold the unquestionable king of console games, especially if you're a science fiction buff. Take one part ripped-from-the-headlines storyline, throw in some retro-tech with a lot of fifties flair and enough dystopia to choke three horses and you've got Fallout 3, the best first-person shooter I've played in a long time.

Fallout 3 succeeds where so many others have failed mostly by dint of its story. Where many FPS titles have only a rudimentary story holding together the violence in a narrative fashion, Fallout 3's story is massive. Whether you help or hurt the survivors of mankind's flawed-est hour, you'll have a noticeable effect on the vast and fully explorable Capitol Wasteland.

If you've played earlier Fallouts, you'll find plenty of the familiar in here, but also plenty of brand new features to enjoy. Newcomers should pick up the mechanics with some ease--this was my first Fallout too. Controls are smooth and intuitive, with plenty of tutorials and help menus to get you through.

All in all, Fallout 3 should be an easy choice for your game of the year, even before the DLC is fully out in March.
