It's hard to decide with story is better, the screenplay for this movie that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck wrote, their first, or the story Damon and Affleck writing their first screenplay which propelled them to stardom and became and Oscar winner. Both are equally moving.

In their story, Damon stars as a very gifted young man, but for whatever reason, he never furthered his education, and works as a janitor at MIT. It almost seems like he just wants to be around the stimulating information. He finds an equation written on a blackboard while cleaning one night and solves it, becoming the only person at MIT to be able to do so. He's found out as the equation-solver, and given the opportunity at an education. In the process, they realize he's hiding some deep problems, and send him to a therapist.

This role as a therapist won Robin Williams a Best Supporting Actor Oscar, just as the wonderful story behind it won Damon and Affleck an Oscar. The movie changed their lives, just as Damon's character's life was changed in the movie.
