Goodfellas is a great mob movie and a great way to show how Henry Hill lived and how he got out of that and everything. I read the book and the book is just as great as the movie. Its kind of creepy but even while reading the book I can still hear him narrate just like in the movie. I love his voice because of his accent which made reading the book all the better. Ray Liotta does a great job of showing how he came up and made himself in the mob and it really feels like he is actually trying to get away from that lifestyle. Everyone should watch this movie.

Goodfellas is not just your typical Mafia movie -- and it delivers on every level.
Not only is it about a simple Irish kid who gets involved with the mafia and works his way up the hierarchy, it's also a true story.

A true story with some of the best actors of our time.
Joe Pesci and Liotta have great dialogue throughout the movie, and there's a scene most people are familiar with...

"You think I'm funny? Funny like a clown? Do I amuse you?"

Is he serious, or is he joking? Ahh, he's just kiddddin'! But he'll blow your brains out if you get on his bad side.
Joe Pesci, that is.

This movie is a cult classic, and I've yet to run into anyone who disliked it.
It was an offer they couldn't refu--*gunshot*

This movie gives you an inside look of the mob. Henry Hill, saving his life, split from the mob and turned informant, then told his story which became GoodFellas. You just can't get any better acting than you find here from Ray Liotta playing Hill, or Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro. The story follows Hill from when he first became connected to the wiseguys as a kid, up through getting married, having a family, then becoming involved with drugs, and getting busted.

There's some classic lines to come out of this movie, such as Pesci's character jokingly asking you think I'm funny? Am I like a clown to you? Also classic is the soundtrack, which follows Hill from the 50s to the 70s. As far as telling the story of the film, you can't do better than this soundtrack. Listening to the soundtrack is like watching the movie, as you see the whole thing play out. Even away from the actual soundtrack, I hear the instrumental part of Layla, and just imagine the bodies hanging in the refrigerated truck. It's genius!
