Oddzon Rubik's Cube

dude i cannot solve this i have been trying for the past 2 years and i see this young kids solve it in under a minute? thats a trip

I think I have a rubik cube only because I don't want to solve it. I know that I could easily look up ways to beat it but I choose not to do that. It is good for whenever I need a mind teaser which is everyday. Normally I can line up a few sides before it starts to become annoying. lol Once it becomes annoying, I just place it back on my desk until I am ready to try again. I know people who get so frustrated that they finally throw it against a wall, but that will never be me. It's not that serious for me. lol

The Oddzon Rubik's Cube is a decent overall cube. Like almost everything these days, it has some great features and others that leave you scratching your head.

Pros
--has 6 sides like most cubes
--easy to use
--better than the Rubik's stick

Cons
--stickers are a @#%$ to take off
--next year's upgrade will be better...maybe with 7 sides and a plaid color
--useless features like wifi and internal hard drive probably increased costs

Overall, the Oddzon Rubik's Cube will please some and disappoint others. I kind of feel like I am in the middle, but I can recommend that you think about it.

You mine as well bang your damn head against the wall till your eyes pool with blood and you drop dead. The only entertainment that comes out of this thing is watching it break into a thousand tiny pieces after it frustrates the living hell out of you. The cube challenges those really intelligent minds and those who can do it while you can't only piss you off even more. The cube is also kind of a downer... I always prided myself on being smart but when someone first handed me this cube it kinda put me down when I couldn't even solve a single side. Either way this thing is an absolute waste of little money... go buy a burger instead...

This is a great challenge to begin with, but also an enormous source of frustration for me. I have no spatial ability whatsoever, so I've never been able to finish one of these! Even when Rubik's Cube was all the rage back when I was in high school and college, and we all spent hours with them, I just couldn't get it to do that last little twist to do what I wanted; I could never beat it into submission. Give me an old-fashioned crossword puzzle any day -- I do the NYT Sunday puzzle every week, and maybe every few weeks I have to look up one clue to get an answer. But I am capable of looking it up to get a final hint -- I can't do that with Rubik's Cube! So those who have spatial ability (or patience!) are welcome to this, but give me a pencil and my NYT puzzle and I have no other needs on a Sunday morning besides coffee and doughnuts ....

We loved the rubik's cube as kids and now my son has been exposed. I am getting him one for christmas. I am hiding the cheat sheet until he gets really frustrated and then I will give him some hints. I can't wait to see if he can solve it and if so how fast.

I originally thought Oddzon Rubiks Cube was rapper Ice Cube's younger protege, taking the West Coast rap game mantle from one of the original members of N.W.A.

Though not so in-your-face or lyrically blessed, the Oddzon Rubiks Cube still provides hours of entertainment just the like the before mentioned rapper.

Its not obvious which gang the Oddzon Rubiks Cube is affiliated with as both blue and red (along with several other colors) are equally represented. In this day and time this is a refreashing and positive change.

Oh, this just takes me back to the eighties when I was a wee child and played this game all day and night. I must admit, I was pretty good at it. Well, for a kid, anyway. This is great for your grey cells, kiddies. Keep playing and you won't lose your brain cells!

Rubick's Cube. Such a fantastic part of my childhood. These things are impossible unless you do it all the time. I used to be able to finish these when I was a kid but I tried one about a week ago and I couldn't even begin to figure out what I would do to finish it. It's really hard, not just a toy for the meek. I think I need to buy one of these and take on the challenge for a whole week and see if I could do it. It's so hard it's unbelievable, I have a lot of respect for anyone who can finish this in a reasonable amount of time.

I see this cube in almost every toy department or bookstore. What an effort to turn every young kid or adult into a puzzle genius. I've seen people competing against each other on who gets to match the colors of the cube first. There are even tons of videos showing people with extraordinary cube-solving skills. I couldn't bring myself to solve this within a matter of a few seconds or minutes. I still need to figure out a technique to perform more effectively. This is in fact what you just need in the end, a technique to help you solve the cube faster. There are tutorials over at youtube if you are interested, but I suggest solving the cube at your own pace first. Makes for a little but complex challenge that goes a long way.

I do remember when this cube came out. I tried and tried and finally took it apart just to see it finished. This cube drove me crazy. Now when i was in the hospital someone bought me one and I still cant do it, I use it as a paper weight now on my desk.

What an excellent invention. This is one of those toys that if you see one, you just can't help but pick one up thinking that maybe, just maybe, this'll be the time you'll actually solve it! I know a few people that have figured out the method to this toy's madness, but most of us regular people out there have fun trying until we frustratingly throw it up into the air and call it dumb toy. Odds are that you probably won't solve this toy, but you sure will have a lot of fun trying. Besides, it has great entertainment value, and makes you look smart if you can figure it out!

By the way, as a kid I thought I could outsmart the system by removing the colored square stickers and moving those around, but it doesn't work. Just makes a big mess! ;) LOL

A classic for a reason. An old saying comes to mind when thinking about the Cube: It’s not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game. I think that’s especially true in this case.
We all know – or were one of the – kids who pulled off the stickers so they could solve the cube. Far from being a torture device designed to instill low self-esteem upon the younger generation, the Cube actually is a great way to introduce your child to important analytical skills. Other benefits might include memory improvement and better hand eye coordination.
So, even if you solve one side or all six, remember it’s not about the competition – it’s about what you learn along the way!

I have to give this product high marks just for it's staying power. It has become the quintessential puzzle of our time.

It's fun to look at, it's portable, and cheap. You can make a variety of patterns and shapes without straying from the original concept.

We all enjoyed watching the ridiculous competitions where five year old child genuises would solve the puzzle behind their back, and we would be left saying, "How did he do that?"

On the other hand, for the average Jane like me, it's frustrating, tedious, and makes me want to throw it through a window.

When I was little, in a fit of frustrated rage at my inability to solve this damn thing, I peeled off the stickers and tried to cheat the system. But peeling them off made the adhesive dry so you couldn't re-apply them onto one color block without the corners peeling and eventually falling off. It left me with a blackened, sticky, useless Rubik's cube--one way worse than an incomplete one!

Now I still can't solve the damn thing. I think I was able to once in my 27 years of life, but since, I haven't the patience nor the attention span to sit down and take another crack at it.

So take that you stupid, skill-enriching, patience-teaching, critical thinking-building, dexterity-enhancing little SQUARE: I'm done with you! I don't have time for you. Why? Because... you're just too good for me *sniffle*

A great game for kids to develop critical thinking skills. A great game for adults to realize how stupid they are. No really, this game is great but very difficult and extremely addicting. When we were moving, my old rubic's cube resurfaced for a while and I couldn't put it down. I must be honest, I still don't know how to solve the thing (without taking the little cubes apart and disassembling the whole thing). I can get almost 3 sides with a lot of trial and error. Yet, I still try and try. This game provides hours of frustrating fun.

I've played with this thing hundreds of times, and every time I do, I end up with the same outcome...complete and utter frustration. I have no idea how to complete this puzzle, and I don't think I ever will do so successfully. I think it's crazy that people can do it so fast, but there is probably some kind of system to figuring it out. Once you figure it out once I would imagine it gets easier from that point forward.

It is a good toy to challenge the minds of young and old alike, I would recommend it for anyone looking for a time consuming toy that can be fun for all ages.

This thing really can frustrate the heck out you, but in the end, it sets out to do what it wants to do: challenge you. The Rubik's cube is a great way to engage the mind. Be careful, though. It may lead to mere frustration, but after reading instructions, you'll see that it does eventually seem to fall into place. Don't buy this thing expecting to solve it within a day and think that you'll feel ubersmart. Instead, know that you'll be challenged for a long time before being able to solve it on your own. When you do, though, it'll be great.

The cube is amazaing, once you start playing with it it's hard to put down. I began using it last year when someone gave me a gift card for a store and i had a few bucks left in it, then while browsing what i could get with that little money i found the cube. During the first week or so i thought it was very annoying, simply because it's really hard to complete! Then i used the instructions that it comes with (which are very complex as well) and before you know it i was easily completing the cube and amazing people! I love this cube.

I'm not big on first impressions, but if you don't love the Rubik's cube, I will write you off. consider that an ultimatum

It's solo amusement at it's greatest. Hours of entertainment from fiddling around with a portable primary colored cube, sign me up! And the thing is, it's a relic. It's something anyone from the age range of 10-99 can relate to, and that is beautiful. With the technological advances of our day and age, one can see that classics like the Rubik's cube must be preserved!

I created a rubik's cube club on campus two years ago for people who love puzzle games like the good ol' rubik's. I find it hard to protest immigration and other hotly debated issues. but when the oddzon rubik's is on the line, to the picket lines I go!

The oddzon rubik's cube is a fun toy that provides enless hours of entertainment. I personally can not solve one but if I was more patient and willing to learn then I probably could. A person would either love or hate the rubik's cube. The people who love it are people who know how to solve it or people who are learning. There are several techniques to solve it. Once you figure out how to, then the real fun would begin. Trying to solve it quickly is the real challenge. It was definitely a real craze many years ago but it has kinda come back these days. In my school there are many people that I see solving it. I even saw a kid who solved it one handed with a blindfold on. I was really impresses with that. So I would recommend the oddzon rubik's cube to anyone who is patient and willing to challenge your mind with this simple and entertaining toy puzzle.

WOW this cube still makes my hair hurt. I was never able to solve one. I think I spent about a week back in 1981 trying to do it. I'll never get that week back. Now to watch little babies on YouTube doing it makes me feel really stupid. If you really wanna impress me lil tiny baby.. how about drive a car or make beef wellington. Betcha cant.. HA! Knew it. I swear that people who can solve these are in league with the Devil. If you have a friend that maybe owes you money or you just want to frustrate his children buy them a few of these cubes.

I haaaaate the Rubik's Cube. Hate it.

First of all, it's totally impossible. Unless you're Dustin Hoffman in Rainman, there's no way to solve the puzzle. Or maybe I'm just a quitter. Who knows? That said, I have figured out some handy uses for Rubik's Cube.

1.) Buy a new one (they come with the color blocks already aligned). Take it out of the box and put it on a shelf so that it's visible to everyone in the room. Instantly, you look a little smarter.

2.) Buy two and use them for book ends.

Okay, so I only figured out two uses for them. All in all, the only reason to buy a Rubik's Cube is because it's in the clearance bin for 50 cents or less.

Oh, no. It's baaa-aack. That stupid, energy draining, frustrating, endless square is back. I thought we were over it in the '70's. YAY! This is so much fun and a great stress reliever, if you don't allow it to get the better of you and get even more frustrated when you can't line up all the colors right. This is a time-waster to the nth degree, but very good for challenging your mind and making time go fast if you're waiting for something - say in the dentist office or in the principal's office (ahem). Great for kids to work on manual dexterity and brain cells. Aults love it, too.

Warning! This is addictive! I repeat, this game is very addictive!

The first time I sat down with one of these things, I was hooked for hours. In fact, I had to have it taken away from me.

Why is it so addictive? Well, for me it was kind of a tease. Just when I thought I had it all right, something would go wrong. And then there was a kind of frustration that would set in which generally lead towards rash decisions.

After the first time I learned to be more patient with it and actually was able to solve it faster.

It certainly is a great brain teaser. So, if you have a lot of extra time and you like puzzles then this little game just might be for you.

There are oldies and then there are classics. This is a classic. Like many good puzzles, you can easily start trying to solve it, but it takes time and effort to really master it.

Educational purposes aside, the Rubik’s cube is an item that every household should own. We think that Tetris is a never ending pick up and play type game, but the Rubik’s cube is the old standard.

The uses for this little cube are immeasurable. All office desks need fiddling toys, and all cars need quiet toys children can sit and focus on. Not to mention other geeky pursuits such as showing off your mad solving skills, and coming up with non-traditional solutions. My mother told me about how I solved the cube as a child: take off the stickers and glue them on the right way. Apparently my uncle decided to use pliers on one when he was younger. Buy one and discover your own!

No matter how many toys I owned in my childhood, the Rubik's Cube was always my favorite. Spending hours and hours trying to solve this fascinating toy was pure pleasure. Despite playing with it for such a long time, I never got bored with it. If you are looking for a quick and easy brain buster, then I suggest purchasing one for yourself or children. Having Rubik's Cube contest was the highlight of many fun filled nights. Even as an adult, I still walk around with a tiny version of it on my key chain. During long commutes to and from work, the Rubik's Cube comes in extremely handy. Playing with it for a couple minutes has also miraculously help to relieve some of my unwanted stress at times. This is a great toy that brings back plenty of wonderful memories.

The Good:

When I was a kid this thing was all over school. Kids solved it and competed to beat each others' times. We even had tournaments during the lunch hour.

For me this has always been a cool looking paper weight that I can pull off the shelf and spin around when the mood hits. I enjoyed solving it, slowly, but enjoyed taking it apart even more. The first time I took it apart I couldn't put it back together, but the second one I bought has been disassembled and restored a number of times.

The Bad:

There's always a gunslinger who'll walk into your home and solve it faster than you can solve it.

Bottom Line:

A fun puzzle, or paper weight.

The Rubik's Cube is genius. Unfortunately, I am not, so I've never been able to solve it. But I do think it's an incredibly inventive toy, and I love how it subtly promotes mathematical thinking in an innocuous package. The people I know who have been able to work it out are all very bright and mathematically minded, and I think that it's helpful for kids to try it to learn about patterns and problem-solving. I have always wanted to finish it, but I can't bring myself to "cheat" and read the how-to guides, so for now I'm still muddling through.

This product is truly classic. I remember spending countless hours playing with rubic's cube and occasionally getting it solved... This is a very entertaining and at the same time very educational toy. It is iedal for kids and people who like solving puzzles and games and most important it teaches patience. I remember how I would throw it away when I could not take it anymore but that is why it takes patience. I bought the rubik's cube for my nephew as a gift and he is fascinated by it and spends a lot of time trying to solve it.

Overall, rubik'c cube is an awesome toy for all ages.

I really enjoy the Oddzon Rubik's Cube because it tests your knowelege and skill to solve it. When I first got this Rubik's Cube it took me about three months to solve it, i wanted to give up but I didn't. The reason that i enjoy this Rubik's Cube is because it is very fun, and whenever you are bored you can use it for some fun action. I also like it because it is not that expensive. The only thing that i dont like about it is that you get fed up with it after a while. Overall this is still fun and a most have.

The Rubik's cube is so much fun but it is so hard! =( I try it everytime I see it. I just do not understand how my boyfriend can do it so quickly, even do it at all. He just understands all the algorithms and patterns. At times, he makes cute little designs such as crosses for me to look at. The colors on the rubik's cube are white, orange, blue, green, red, and yellow. The rubik's cube is a great toy to play with to impress your friends or co-workers. In addition, a great time consumer on a rainy day. Just having a rubik's cube can start up a conversation and make you look intelligent. I am still trying to complete the rubik's cube multiple times in a row without getting stressed out.

Who would have thought something so simple could make such a huge impact on the kids of the time. I cant fathom the hours I spent trying to work the pattern in my brain. Dont think I ever solved it, but I got hours of enjoyment from my Rubik's. I still see them around and mentioned in movies of today. I have seen them in psycologists offices. It definately got the mind working and privided the minds of children to work together and challenge one another. Of course there were some like my brother who would take it apart, turn it a couple times and say the figured it out, still it got them away from the TV and challenged their minds.

What an amazing invention! The first time I saw a rubik's cube was when I was younger, about 12 or so. Since then I knew there was a formula to remember to solve one of these, but have tried it out. A few months ago, this sparked my interest again, so I purchased one. It came with basic instructions on how to solve the rubik's cube. Solving it the first time was pretty hard, even with instructions. But after solving it a few more times, it became easier and easier to remember the moves. I then moved on to learning other more advanced steps from other people on youtube to try and get a faster time. This thing is really fun wherever you go because it's small and mobile and you won't get bored solving it every now and then.
