This is the most unique love story I think I have ever seen. This couple never expresses any romantic interest in each other, unless you consider his awkward fumbling attempts after their first meeting. They also only know each other for a few days. Yet, throughout, you can feel their incredible love for each other, as she helps him record some of his music. They have such common interests, and you begin to wonder if maybe another time, another place ...

Even the casting in this film was unconventional. The two leads were hired just to write and provide the music for the film. However, watching these two do the music, it was decided they would also act in the film as well. There's something about that that just made it so much more real.

My parents were raving about this movie after they had seen in the theater. It was a really small movie made on the tiniest budget imaginable, but I still really liked it.

This movie is totally simple and understated, in every way. There aren't any special effects, the sound isn't great, the shots are shaky at times. But the characters are moving, the music is really great, and something about the simplicity is really engaging.

Don't watch this movie with high expectations or when you're tired. It gets boring at times, but it is still well worth watching, in my opinion.

Rent/buy this movie to watch when you're feeling extra moody. You will find very little action in this self-proclaimed modern day musical-- and that includes the kissy kissy kind. Plot summary: Two strangers (a street musician and a flower peddler) meet on the streets of Dublin and discover that they make beautiful music together. Whether they decide to take chances in their love life and in their careers is the question that moves the plot forward. There was some chemistry between the main characters, but I wasn't convinced that it was the hot and heavy kind. So I wasn't that upset when they never kissed.

I am deep into romance books so this movie was right in my ball park. This movie was delicious. I bought the soundtrack after I watched the movie, I want so bad to also have it on LP.

The two main characters in the movie are, in real life artists, specifically cast for these parts because of their music ability and then trained to act.

It is a story about music through these two artists. They undoubtedly love each other and the chemistry they have came through to me and I was engrossed in the movie the whole way through!

It inspired me to pick up my guitar and get to work, now.

If only I had known it would be such a great film, I'd have seen it on the big screen!
