My positive impression of the Sansa has only grown stronger since then.
It sounds very good, even with very cheap headphones. (I don't use the earbuds that came with this player, because my ears don't like earbuds. I have some better headphones on order.)
It is super-compact, but the controls aren't too fiddly.
The drawbacks are those that are obvious when you're considering MP3 players. It's only 1GB, although there are models with more memory.
That said, this player represents excellent value.
