Amazing movie. The world surronunding the characters gave an amazing feel to the story. The eerie feeling and amazing directing places this movie in my top 10 movies this year

This is one of the worst movies I've sat through. It was Saturday, it was 2am, there was nothing left to do so I put this movie on because it was just starting and nothing else was on TV.
Basically, the beginning I had it turned down real low, but from what I saw I did not miss anything. Liv Tyler plays a chick who was just purposed to. From the look on her face and Scott Speedman's you can tell she said no. He seemed disappointed and a little upset. She loves him, but she's not read. She needs some ciggies so she sends her now depressed man out to get some. Before he goes, someone knocks on the door asking for someone who clearly didn't live there.
Scott leaves Liv. The knocking continues and the "terror" begins. There are three, what I can only describe as kids because we never see their face, but they seem short. They harass and terrorize Liv. She's scared, and grabs a knife to run and hide in her bedroom. Scott comes home and goes to get his cell in the car to call for help to no avail. He runs back to the house grabs a shotgun and huddles down with Liv in a corner. Someone walks around the corner and bang he shoots them. Unfortunately, it was his best friend. So instead of waiting through the night where he's at with his gun all protected, what does he do? You guessed it. He leaves Liv in the house and runs into the woods, where he gets ambushed.
Do I hate spoilers, yes. Do I feel as though telling you exactly what happened during this movie is a spoiler, HELL NO. This movie sucked. It was awful. There was no point. At the end when Liv and Scott are tied up, she asks why they're doing that to them and the response. "Because you were home." They get stabbed and its over. While the bad guys are driving away they come across two Christian church children with pamphlets. The killers get out and grab a pamphlet and continue on their way. The children happen upon the bodies and as one is leaning over Liv she screams. Ta Da. The end. This movie was awful. Nothing happened but two people being stupid. They deserved what they got.

This was one of the worse horror movies I have ever seen...ever. I'm not afraid to admit that I wanted to watch this film because I'm a fan of Scott Speedman, and I thought it was going to be a little scary like the commercial said; but boy was I disappointed. Scott Speedman and Liv Tyler play an engaged couple on their way to a secluded cottage. Their emotions reek of depression because it seems as if Tyler has ended their engagement, but that sure doesn't stop them from having a hot sexual encounter.
Tyler decides she wants smokes and of course her man goes out to get them; which is when the strangers appear. A family of three who like to wear KKK esque masks, rang her doorbell playing childish games and saying idiotic things that scare her. Why they choose to torment people who knows; maybe because they live in a small town and have nothing better to do.
Of course there is not much cell phone service. Speedman comes back and puts on a tough man facade, which he'll pay for.
I was quite upset at the ending. This movie wasn't scary at all, I don't care if I am a horror film buff. I don't recommend watching it if you're looking for a scary movie; you'd be better off watching Nightmare on Elm Street.

As soon as i saw this movie was up to review i started to laugh. I like scary movies but only because of the fact that they makes me laugh rather then scream. This movie was horrible! The people in mask has so many chances to kill the new owners of their house but yet they let them go away. It took them an hour to finally grab them and tie them up. What i hate about movies, i mean "scary" movies is that when the killer is like walking and the person they are trying to kill is running but the killer gets them anyway.
One star is what this movie gets.
It was terrible, a waste of time.

Aggravating from start to finish.
Not because of plot, so much--as a scary movie it works pretty nicely. At least, what you can actually see of it. But that's the problem--the photography is so dark, that half the time no one knows what's going on. In some cases, such a strategy might help a story line. In this situation, it only serves to bore and frustrated the audience.
It started out quite freaky for me, though, because I somewhat identify with the setting. A young couple is spending the night out in an isolated country house, where the man has prepared a romantic evening. But his lady is unhappy, and it is apparent that she has just broken up with him. He leaves to get cigarettes, and while he's gone masked figures and noises start appearing in short glances.
A very terrorizing evening ensues for the girl as well as her boyfriend when they return, and unfortunately it doesn't end well. I, too, live in a more rural area, and so when I used to be home alone at dusk, even in highschool, I used to freak myself out sometimes and imagine similar things as this movie happening.
Although it was scary enough for me, the photography made it nearly impossible to follow (What was that yell? Did he fall into a bear trap or get knifed by the masked maurader?). My suggestion for your next horror night is to try something else a little more visible.
